A woman’s duty
Russian women do not trust a dishwasher

During All-Russia Omnibus survey Romir responded the Russians on their attitudes towards such a routine housework as dishwashing. The survey encompassed 590 urban citizens, males and females aged 25 - 45. According to the results of the survey, Russian families tend to follow traditional distribution of household duties and dishwashing still remains a housewife’s responsibility. Over two thirds declared that utensils in their families are washed by a woman, and only each sixth man takes such duty upon him.




Switching from meat to bread

In May the Russians clearly felt the price growth rate stepping up. Every other respondent stated that during a month prices for bread, eggs and meat had been rising faster than early this year when the moratorium on increase of prices for socially important products was on. Approximately one third of respondents cut down consumption of products, which had been growing more expensive, and switched to cheaper categories and less expensive retail outlets when shopping




Russians know about pension reform

Research company Romir has explored the market of pension services in Russia to measure awareness of the Russians of the current pension reform. The survey encompassed 1630 respondents in urban and rural communities in all federal districts and was conducted by a method of formalized personal interview with respondents of different educational and income levels.




Russians decided on three leading mobile phone shop networks

Romir prepared a rating of awareness of mobile phone shops. When polled without prompts most participants of the research (74,7%) remembered the network of mobile phone shops “Evroset”. 60,5% of the polled named “Svyaznoy”. “Tsifrograd” (33,1%) proved to be the third most famous network. 1753 (49% male/ 51% female) people aged 14 and over living in eight cities with population over 1 million participated in the research. Method of collecting information: personal formalized interview at respondent’s residence. Duration of interview: 15-20 minutes. On average statistical error across the sample does not exceed 2.5%.




Moods of the representatives of small and middle businesses in Russia in 2007 have been analyzed

Two thirds of the polled are interested in resuming import of Abkhazian wines to the Russian market

77% of respondents assert that they drink wines, and it turns out that women (82%) do it considerably more often than men (75%). The research shows that the age group of 25-44 year-olds accounts for the largest share (50%) of people consuming this type of alcohol drinks. Respondents with higher education and high level of income consume them somewhat more often than on average across the sample. Nearly two thirds (67%) of the polled, who consume wines, proved to drink Abkhazian wines. A quarter of participants of the research practically do not drink these wines, 32% of participants drink them sometimes, and 9% unconditionally prefer them to other wines. Almost two thirds of the interviewed (62%) showed interest in resuming import of Abkhazian wines to the Russian market. 1586 people aged 16 and over took part in the research. The statistical error does not exceed 2,6 %...




Adults adore “baby” yoghurts

Romir presents the results of SCIF study of the market of cultured milk baby foods. Currently most popular brands in the market of cultured milk foods with strong baby-focused positioning are Rastishka, Skeletons, Agusha and Tema, produced by three top manufacturers: Danone, WBD and Unimilk. Though meant for babies, the above brands turned out to be not so much baby-consumed ones...




What do women want?

47% of the Russians are going to mark the Women’s Day (March, 8) with their family. Practically every fifth of the polled (19%) intends to pay a visit to somebody else, while every tenth declared that they would not mark this holiday in the principle. Curious enough that men flatly refuse from presenting their ladies with money (23%), sports goods (22%), and pets (21%), while on this day women most of all would like to receive a mobile phone, flowers, jewellery, cosmetic products or clothes.

Russians take negative attitude to construction of nuclear stations and long for renewable sources of energy

In December, 2007 Romir conducted an opinion poll commissioned by Heinrich Bell Foundation and ecological organization “Ecozaschita”. Nine regions, where nuclear power projects are to be realized in the nearest future, were chosen for the poll.
